With wordpress you can show your most popular or most viewed posts on a sidebar widget, This widget displays the posts which has the maximum number of pageviews in three different ways i.e. weekly, monthly or All time. It is a great tool to engage your readers more and increase your page views. This will also help you know which of your posts leads the row. Here we are doing it with the plugin,  the plugin is created bywordpress.org team it self so its nice, light weighted and simple in use let see how to grab it from the wordpress repository.

Plugin Installation

1. Login to wordpress , access your admin panel 2. Navigate to Plugins >> Add New 3. Type “WordPress.com Popular Posts” in the search box and press Enter! 4. Click on Install Now , a popup menu will be appeared saying do you want to Install this plugin click yes and proceed with your ftp and password. 5.Then  Activate the plugin. (Alternatively you can download the plugin from wordpress plugins directory then upload it manually , install and activate)

Add The Popular Posts Widget To Your Blog

After installing the plugin , From the Tab Menu of your wordpress admin panel go toAppearance >> Widgets. From the Available widgets , drag and drop “Popular post Widget” to your active / primary sidebar. Fill in the following parameters Title , Numbers of posts , Desired Time frame (length in day’s) remember that zero is for unlimited days , date time format etc. After adding the visit some of your post you will see the popular post widget showing your popular posts!
